Artificial Intelligence Transparency Notice

PEAK Technical Services, Inc. (“PEAK”) is committed to leveraging advanced technologies to enhance our candidate screening, interviewing and hiring processes. As part of this commitment, we use Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, also known as Automated Employment Decision Tools (AEDT), in our candidate screening, interviewing and hiring processes but all decisions are made by a human reviewer. For roles associated with New York City, we use an automated employment decision tool (AEDT) to assess the role-related qualifications and characteristics stated in the job posting. This notice also serves as our Colorado website statement: we deploy high-risk AI systems that generate applicant scores/rankings for human review. For California applicants, this serves as our ADMT pre-use notice: one of the purposes is to rank/screen applicants by match to posted requirements.
PURPOSES OF PEAK’S AI TOOLS
- Resume Screening – AI tools are employed to efficiently screen resumes by identifying key qualifications and skills that match job requirements.
- Candidate Matching – Our AI systems help match candidates to job opportunities based on their skills, experience and preferences.
- Communication with Candidates – Our AI technology may reach out to candidates upon receipt of resume to help facilitate the screening and interview process. In addition, our AI technology may reach out to you with information about other job opportunities that may be of interest to you based on your skills, experience and preferences on your resume.
- Interview Scheduling – AI assists in streamlining the interview scheduling process, ensuring timely and convenient arrangements for both parties.
- Recording- PEAK may use AI to record phone conversations with you concerning job opportunities, and to record, transcribe, and summarize phone or video interviews. We do this to help PEAK’s hiring team evaluate your qualifications against job requirements, to provide a summary and to help with notetaking.
- Ranking- PEAK may use AI to provide us with candidate match scores/ranking based on the job requirements. The score or rank is produced for human review.
TYPES OF DATA WE USE AND THE SOURCE OF THE DATA
The type of data used is your resume, job-match features (for example, skill/credential matches and experience thresholds), and AI conversational data. The source of data is the information you submit on your resume and materials derived from it and your conversations with our team and AI systems. Your materials are compared to job criteria and a score or rank is produced for human review.
TRANSPARENCY AND FAIRNESS
PEAK’s AI tools are used to complement human decision-making, not replace it. All final decisions are made by human reviewers. PEAK is committed to ensuring the responsible use of AI tools in compliance with applicable legal frameworks. We continually monitor and improve our AI systems to ensure they remain unbiased, effective, and aligned with our values of diversity and inclusion.
INDEPENDENT BIAS AUDITS
PEAK is committed to making sure its AI tools do not discriminate against certain groups based on legally protected characteristics like race, gender, or age. To further that commitment, PEAK has its AI tools audited independently each year. CONSENT AND OPT-OUT OPTIONS
PEAK will obtain consent from candidates before utilizing AI tools or AEDTs to facilitate the screening and interview process. Candidates have the right to withhold consent (“opt-out”), and request an alternative process.
