How PEAK’s 300+ Technical Placements Are Building Sustainable, Cleaner Public Transit

on December 18, 2025 in Workforce Planning

Clean energy transportation isn’t a pipedream; it’s a reality that is picking up steam around the world. One of PEAK’s clients is at the forefront of this trend, providing major metropolises in countries around the world with zero-emission electric buses that safely and efficiently move passengers from Point A to Point Z (and everywhere in between).

As the global demand for eco-friendly transportation continues to rise, this company needs to consistently find personnel who are dedicated to safety, sustainability, and reliability in their work. Here’s how the PEAK team helped our client find a workforce of skilled technicians capable of keeping their fleet and business up and running.

Challenge: Supplying High-Skill Technicians Nationwide

Though the global market is eager to embrace eco-friendly transportation, the workforce of specialized technical professionals hasn’t met the overall demand. There are several reasons for this:

  • The high demand for specialized talent combined with the limited talent pool has resulted in a competitive and intense recruitment process
  • Many mechanics and technicians have a skills gap for electric buses which requires extensive retraining and ongoing education to remedy
  • Workforce planning is difficult since the EV market is still somewhat uncertain, especially in public transit where demand ebbs and flows with administrations

Though our client had previously attracted over 8,200 team members in nine countries, they did not want a lengthy and complicated search to prevent them from scaling and accelerating their production. They knew that an experienced staffing partner was necessary to supply mechanical, electro-mechanical, and field service technicians at the speed and scale of their vision.

Initially, their needs were relatively modest. The client engaged PEAK to provide 10-12 field service technicians for FL, MA, NJ, and TX locations. However, after PEAK’s customized solution demonstrated an unmatched ability to reliably supply personnel at volume across geography, they quickly expanded their requirements to additional locations.

PEAK’s Customized Solution: Rapid Deployment of Specialized Technicians

There’s no shortage of technical staffing agencies out there. What sets PEAK apart (and the reason our client has trusted us for over a decade) is that we’re seasoned industry veterans. Our team has decades of experience across a range of technical verticals, including automotive and transportation, electronics, industrial machinery and equipment, R&D and product development, and more.

When our client first chose PEAK to fill their technical staffing needs, we were already well-positioned to find exceptional performers who could increase manufacturing success. We began with an in-depth investigation and used that knowledge to tailor our staffing solution to their unique needs, including:

  • Diving deep into the client’s staffing gaps, including the specific technical requirements for each role
  • Reviewing our existing talent networks to find professionals who bridged those skills gaps
  • Submitting a combination of contractor, temp-to-hire, and permanent professionals, depending on the specific project needs

PEAK began by placing over six field service personnel within the first month. Over time, PEAK provided additional personnel, including mechanical and electro-mechanical technicians, welders, administrative support, supervisors, and several support roles.

One of the client’s specific needs was to hire technicians who could service multiple locations. As part of our custom staffing solution, we included travel and accommodation in the package, which allowed these technicians to serve various locations once deployed.

Outcomes: Hundreds Staffed Over a Decade-Long Partnership

The most persuasive endorsement of our relationship with the client? They have continuously partnered with us for over a decade and we continue satisfying their technical staffing needs to this day.

Since those initial staffing in 2015, PEAK has provided over 340 hires across locations in 22 states. Our solution involves ongoing support not just for full-time placements, but also for contingent hiring and contract-to-hire. In fact, 15% of the technicians we placed ended up converting into full-time employees based on territory and volume of demand.

Over the last decade, PEAK has become a total solution provider for this global manufacturer. We’re proud to support our client as they contribute to a future where cities are more livable thanks to connected, clean, and sustainable transportation.
